Vowed Life of the Ursuline Sisters
“God sends the spirit to call each one of us to a fuller life in Christ. A woman who responds to the Spirit’s call by entering this religious congregation takes on the lifelong task of nurturing Christ life in herself and others.” - Ursuline Constitution #55

  • Have you felt a nudge or had a sense deep within that you want to be of more service to other people in the name of Jesus?
  • Have you had a desire to form a deeper relationship with God?
  • Are you willing to share your gifts, talents, and who you are with others committed to a life of prayer and participation in the mission of the Church?

The Ursuline Sisters of Louisville are a vowed Community of women religious who trace their foundation to Saint Angela Merici of Brescia, Italy in 1535. The Louisville foundation dates to 1858.

Members of the Congregation profess the permanent vows of poverty, celibacy, obedience, and to teach Christian living. They live a common life with a commitment to contemplative prayer and to serve the needs of others.
