Juneteenth commemorates the official emancipation of enslaved African Americans in Texas on June 19, 1865, marking the effective end of slavery in the United States. It’s a day of celebration, remembrance, and reflection, recognized as a federal holiday, and celebrated across the nation with a variety of traditions.

The Legacy of York

FREE event to commemorate York, a key member of the Lewis and Clark Expedition, and the enslaved Black servant to William Clark. There will be tours, talks, singing, and poetry readings.
