We would like to extend greetings to Bishop Shelton Fabre, whom Pope Francis has named as the next Archbishop of Louisville. We welcome his joyful message to open our hearts wide to injustice and suffering in our world, and to continue to build on the good works performed daily in our archdiocese by so many.
We wish to thank Archbishop Joseph E. Kurtz for his many years of service to our archdiocese, and his support of the ministries of the Ursuline Sisters of Louisville. We pray that he enjoys a happy and blessed retirement.
Since 1858, the Ursuline Sisters of Louisville have put their trust in Jesus Christ, following the charism of our foundress, St. Angela Merici, which is a “a contemplative love of God and a resulting openness and eagerness to serve the needs of others.” We look forward to serving our local church with our new archbishop.
